What We Believe

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

Complete List of Beliefs

The following are the core beliefs of Community Worship Center based on the foundational truths taught in scripture. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

We believe there is only one God, Who is Sovereign above all. God is infinite and all-powerful. He has been revealed to us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  He is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom,  justice, and mercy. He is unchangeable and therefore is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God.
On earth, Jesus was 100% God and 100% man.
And great, we confess, is the mystery [the hidden truth] of godliness: He (Jesus Christ) who was revealed in human flesh,
Was justified and vindicated in the Spirit, seen by angels, Preached among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.  (I Timothy 3:16)

Humans, both male and female, were created in God's image for His glory. The first humans, Adam and Eve, were created without sin and appointed as caretakers of the rest of God's creations.

The Fall

Man was created good and upright, but by voluntary transgression he fell; his only hope of redemption is in Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ; His death, burial, and resurrection. Salvation is a gift from God. Jesus Christ willingly died on the cross to pay the penalty for our transgressions and, by grace, offers as a free gift eternal life to all who follow Him, by faith, as their Lord and Savior. That is why salvation can be found in Christ alone.

The Church

The Church is meant to be the visible body of Christ, sent into the world to glorify God and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are, therefore, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for fulfillment of Jesus’ great commission. Every person who is born of the Spirit is an integral part of the church as a member of the body of believers.

Kingdom Builders

We embrace the five-fold ministry where scripture teaches us that God gave apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers for the equipping of the church, for the work of the ministry, for the building up of the body of Christ.  In so doing, we believe we can come together in unity of faith, and the knowledge of the Son of God, to be complete and fully functioning members in God's Kingdom.

Spirit Filled

We believe that it was necessary for Jesus to die so that we could partake in the outpouring of His Spirit and be able to enter the presence of God.  We can now draw near with confidence and a sincere heart because of the sacrifice that Jesus made.  We can have confidence in the fact that the one who made the promise is trustworthy.

Jesus Christ is returning one day to judge both the living and the dead and to usher in the fullness of God's kingdom on earth.
