As a nation, we have just passed our annual celebration of a National Day of Thanksgiving. There is much to be thankful for. In an election year, threatened to be disrupted and influenced by terrorist activity, the American people were uninterrupted as they cast their votes. A glance at the evening news will demonstrate that the same thing cannot be said for other countries around the world.

We can be so very thankful for the freedoms we have, and for the men and women around the world using their skills, as well as risking their lives to keep this nation free. The holiday season is a wonderful time to remind these men and women in our military that they have gifted us, and their sacrifices are not taken lightly.

Please consider making the holidays brighter for the men and women serving our country by gifting them with a card or note of encouragement. Also, our troops need our spiritual and emotional support on an ongoing basis. Cards and letters are appreciated year round.
